Can a person be an atheist and a Quaker? Of course the question can be turned on its head Is it possible to be both a Christian and a Quaker? I guess the answer depends on what kind of Christian Unlike atheists who, I am led to think, are pretty much agreed on what they don’t believe in, Christians come in all shapes and sizes and degrees of certainty about a huge credal spectrum A born again Bible-literalist or one accustomed to taking instruction from spiritual superiors and promoting his or her creed as the only true faith would perhaps not feel too comfortable in our Society
