A change of heart
The two articles on ‘A change of heart’ (28 August) show how our spiritual journeys can take us to different places along the way I wish Sarah well as she moves away from Quakers, and, of course, welcome Helen as she finds her way in the opposite direction Sarah says that she will not be leaving Quakerism behind but taking it with her I felt the same when my life in Methodism eventually led me to Quakers The Methodists would have been willing to transfer me to Quakers, but that is not the Quaker way and I joined through the normal channels I did, though, persuade my Monthly Meeting to receive a letter of transfer from the Methodists The letter was wonderful, along the lines of wishing me well on my spiritual journey Is this something we should consider doing more frequently for those Friends who feel that their spiritual journey leads them to a different home?
