Man jailed after defrauding Quaker Meetings
An experienced fraudster who is believed to have deceived several Quaker Meetings across Britain has been jailed for fraud
Robert Kerr pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud by false representation at Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston Magistrates’ Court He was sentenced to forty-four weeks imprisonment, of which six weeks were for defrauding Quakers An appeal has been launched
‘I feel badly myself that we’ve put somebody behind bars’, said Sally Wallace from Morecambe, whose Meeting was targeted She explained that Friends wanted to use some form of restorative justice, but were unable to influence sentencing
