Poverty Truth Commission set up - preview
People from some of Scotland’s poorest and most marginalised communities have been given the chance to explain the reality of their lives and their visions for the future
The Poverty Truth Commission (PTC) was set up by the Faith in Communities group, itself an initiative of the Church of Scotland, after organisations working on poverty issues said they wanted people affected by poverty to be involved in creating solutions Initially planned as a one-day conference where politicians and decision makers would listen to poor Glaswegians, the PTC is now envisaged as an ongoing body looking at a mixture of issues, from youth violence to in-work poverty, that can blight lives
