Where is Britain? - preview
In January ‘Entropa’, the sculpture commissioned to celebrate the EU’s Czech presidency, was unveiled, disrupting the somewhat solemn corridors of Brussels with tremors of controversy ‘Entropa’ depicts the nation-states of the European Union (EU) as part of a giant eight-tonne model Romania is depicted as a Dracula theme-park, France has the word ‘Grève!’ (strike) emblazoned across it and the depiction of Bulgaria as a Turkish toilet had furious Bulgarian diplomats bristling with anger
The representations of other countries may be insulting, funny or totally out of order but one thing is for sure: the deliberate absence of the UK on the sculpture accurately reflects how the country is seen across Europe
