Peace Tax Seven ponder future after court blow
The Peace Tax Seven are considering their future following the failure of their case at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg
The group, who argue that people should be allowed to divert to peacebuilding activities the portion of their taxes currently used for military expenditure, had hoped to persuade judges in Europe that present policies infringe their human right to freedom of conscience However, the European Court of Human Rights declared on 17 February that their submission was inadmissible
