Exploring our spiritual path - preview
About two years ago we started an evening group in our Local Meeting – Blackheath Some of us had read in the Friend about ‘Writing from the Spirit’ groups or had been on a weekend course to learn about that process We wanted to try to do something similar and so decided to meet once a fortnight in each other’s homes There are usually seven or eight of us but the group remains open for anyone to join or leave, although each person’s contribution remains confidential
The form has evolved gently, remaining simple, relaxed and non-prescriptive We start with a few minutes of silence in order to attune, to settle and ground ourselves Then a pre-arranged person (we take it in turns) offers a topic It is felt to be important not to know the subject beforehand, otherwise we might be tempted to prepare an intellectual response or treat it like a ‘creative writing group’
