‘Under the Wing of the Rock’ - preview
Each year at the end of January Glasgow hosts the Celtic Connections festival, celebrating the diverse forms now taken by music from this tradition around Europe
  • On Burns night in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, a handsome modern building with a good acoustic, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) played a series of pieces with a connection to Scotland and its traditional music
  • Alongside the orchestral members, who played in varying ensembles, featured fiddle, bodhran, clarsach, pipes, bass, drum kit and alto and tenor saxophone

  • Barbara Potter
