Christian unity – or uniformity? - preview

As another Week of Prayer for Christian Unity drew to a close, Kurt Strauss began to ask himself what it was all about

For many years New Earswick Quaker Meeting has been in fellowship with the local Churches Together group and the Meeting regularly hosts the group’s prayer lunches
  • The group also publishes a monthly magazine and, as the Quaker representative on its editorial panel, as well as its advertising manager, I attend as many group events as I can, including the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
  • Halfway through this year’s Week, though, I began to wonder what kind of unity we were actually seeking, and what chance we had of achieving it
