Quakers and other faiths - preview

Tony Stoller introduces the new edition of The Friends Quarterly

Many Friends and many Meetings are currently concerned to discern the proper relationship between Quakerism and other religions
  • We are being offered at this time a whole range of suggested insights from non-Christian traditions
  • How far might our worship and understanding be enhanced by the wisdom of others? Do mechanisms exist to manage that process in right ordering, or do we need to develop them? Above all, perhaps, to what extent might incorporating such practices and beliefs put at risk the distinctiveness that makes Quakerism worth sustaining as a separate endeavour?
