The Wellcome and war
The Friend office is just a stone’s throw from the majestic premises of the Wellcome Collection, that wonderful museum of the history of medicine We occasionally catch glimpses of the editor sneaking in there to look at some of those gruesome exhibits of medical folklore
You might need to be a medical history buff to find the Wellcome Collection interesting, but at present there is an exhibition that should speak to all Quaker peaceniks It is war through the eyes of surgeons and nurses, writers, artists and civilians as well as soldiers
