Seven peace campaigners remain unrepentant after being convicted of criminal damage and trespass at a US airbase
The ‘Lakenheath Eight’, who entered RAF Lakenheath in October 2006 to prevent the use of cluster munitions being stored at the base, were found guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on 17 December 2008 They cut through the fence and chained themselves to a munitions dump before contacting the Ministry of Defence Police to ask them to investigate whether the storage and use of the cluster munitions was a war crime
