Crisis of capitalism or challenge to our stewardship?
I think that John Eversley (Comment, 7 November) is too diffident about what he can do as an individual to change things Oxfam arranged a small meeting in our town with three local MPs of different parties They all begged us to write to them to put forward moral viewpoints on current issues ‘We get many letters,’ they said, ‘asking us to support bigoted and unhelpful positions and we need to be able to prove that many people think the opposite’ They also urged us to reply to letters in the local paper and challenge opinions that we felt were wrong They said that our voices would be heard – but did we use them?
