Living adventurously – of no fixed abode - preview
Jo Scott lives without an address, moving from place to place in her car, working and wandering across Britain and France. She shares the pleasures and frustrations of her recently adopted lifestyle
Recently I became of no fixed abode It was a conscious decision, though one I would rather not have had to make, but financial constraints meant I had little choice It’s very scary, getting to sixty and finding oneself without a roof over one’s head, but rather than panic, I chose to see it as an opportunity I found a very part-time live-in unpaid job for six months in France, then I just wandered, mainly in France, for the next six months I was greatly helped in this because I have been a member of Servas (wwwservasorg) for some years and have made many good friends through this, as well as being a member of Help Exchange (wwwhelpxnet) This has also given me new friends and a sense of purpose (I’m a very practical person and quite good at DIY)
