Faith in action in the Quarterly
Almost every Meeting I come in contact with at the moment seems to be concerned with the balance between burnishing our faith and putting that faith into action
  • Quite right too
  • 'Faith in action' is a very current concern for Quakers in Britain, and the new issue of the Friends Quarterly addresses it with a range of contributions

  • Lewis Benson's Catholic Quakerism may seem to some out of synch with post-modern Quakerism
  • All the more reason then to look again at such a seminal work and Michael Langford describes how the New Foundation Fellowship has brought it to a modern Quaker audience
  • Many Friends may feel challenged by this, as they will by Carole Hamby's exploration of the relevance of eastern spiritual insights to modern Quaker theology and practice
  • 'For every thing that lives is holy' provides David Cadman with the starting point for another challenging article
  • He urges us to remember the significance of living the 'holy life' in the days of credit crunch and resource depletion

  • Tony Stoller & Trish Carn
