Robin Long, an Iraq-war resister from the US who had claimed asylum in Canada, was due to be deported from his adopted homeland this week
On the same day as Robin's arrest on 4 July another war resister, Joshua Key, won a judicial review against the decision to refuse him asylum
More Canadians have become aware of the plight of American war resisters in their country thanks to activists from the War Resisters Support Campaign Supported by a group from the peace churches, including Canadian Friends Service Committee (CFSC), a proactive media approach to de-mystify the subject and to educate people about conscientious objection has been launched
