'No such thing as a spiritual journey'
The image of our spiritual lives as a journey is embedded so deeply in the language as to pass unquestioned
  • Of course we are treading onwards, looking at maps, passing signposts
  • How else could it be? The untimely death a few months ago of the ex-priest philosopher John O'Donohue has returned me to his writings, in particular Anam Cara: spiritual wisdom from the Celtic world, which meditates on soul needs, friendship, paradox and loss
