The long road to equality
The epistles by East Africa Yearly Meeting – North (EAYM-N) in 2006 and 2007 were offensive to many of us British Quakers who cherish and strive for equality
However, continuing post-election violence had claimed around 1,000 lives in Kenya, when, in February 2008, Quaker World Relations Committee (QWRC) met to consider, among other things, a response to this Kenyan Meeting's epistles During the Meeting, it was decided to consider the epistles further when the violence had diminished The committee had in mind that Yearly Meeting Agenda Committee had decided not to publish the EAYM-N 2007 epistle
