Celebrating the first-ever YM
It seems some Quakers just can't get enough of Yearly Meeting!

The annual gathering of British Friends may have ended two weeks ago, but Quakers in and around Bedfordshire jumped at the chance to recreate the event

  • Meeting at Beckerings Park, the site of the first-ever Yearly Meeting in Britain in 1658, local Friends celebrated the part their area had played in early Quaker history
  • Talks from historians and actors, as well as a walk-on appearance by Quaker founder George Fox, helped bring home to Friends the importance of the Yearly Meeting, 350 years ago
