When Agenda Committee suggested that I should read some inspiring early Quaker writing on the first night of BYM I took it on cheerfully, just as I do everyday I even walk cheerfully
  • No problem I thought:

    Our life is love and peace and tenderness;

    We do utterly deny all outward wars;

    Be patterns, be examples;

    Perhaps an inspiring and beautiful passage from Wordsworth, who had Quaker friends;

    Or even, “Dear Mother Earth, by the bright sky above thee, I love thee, O I love thee', with its message for sustainability, by T
