'Going to prison as my first outing in Northern Ireland was a new way for me to be introduced to the culture of a place We came to the prison via the Quaker Prison Visitors Centre which welcomes those visiting their loved ones in prison with a warm drink and the willingness to give them information about the ways in which the visits are conducted and what they can expect several times in subsequent days we were told by non-Quakers that the work with families of prisoners had established a reputation for Quakers in Northern Ireland of integrity and care for all no matter what their religious or political persuasion'
