Now is the time for all good Quakers
It is not only the Society of Friends which is 'laid low' by questions about Jesus (27 July), the mainstream churches are also being challenged
From them have grown groups such as CANA (Christians Awakening to a New Awareness), 'Catholics for a Changing Church' and 'The Living Spirituality Network' which, incidentally, is offering for sale our Friend Frank Parkinson's booklet Religion without Fairy Tales, Science with a Soul
Also, from within the churches have come writers such as the Catholic priest Adrian Smith whose books are striking a chord with many who, in the light of modern science, feel the need to move on from much of the established teaching
Edward Hoare & Judy Kirby
