Now is the time for all good Quakers

  • It is not only the Society of Friends which is 'laid low' by questions about Jesus (27 July), the mainstream churches are also being challenged

  • From them have grown groups such as CANA (Christians Awakening to a New Awareness), 'Catholics for a Changing Church' and 'The Living Spirituality Network' which, incidentally, is offering for sale our Friend Frank Parkinson's booklet Religion without Fairy Tales, Science with a Soul

  • Also, from within the churches have come writers such as the Catholic priest Adrian Smith whose books are striking a chord with many who, in the light of modern science, feel the need to move on from much of the established teaching

  • Edward Hoare & Judy Kirby
