Meeting for Sufferings is turning - preview
This weekend was a second opportunity (the first was in October 2006) for members to consider in depth how the new Sufferings should look and what its role should be as the BYM Trustees take on their responsibilities
On Saturday morning, in small groups of a dozen or so, we tried to put some order into four main tasks: revitalising the spirit; offering leadership and a prophetic voice; ensuring good governance; acting as a channel for communication and co-ordination These aims derive from the October meeting and they refer to ways of providing strategic guidance for Quaker work, mainly the work done corporately but also the way in which the work that is done locally is part of what we do together
