Novartis petitioned to drop patent case
The international medical aid organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is running a petition against pharmaceutical company Novartis, asking them to drop an upcoming court case in India
  • The organisation believes that, if the company wins the case, it could have a significant impact on the ability of many poor people to get access to essential medicines

  • India produces affordable medicines that are vital to many people living in developing countries
  • Over half the medicines currently used for AIDS treatment in developing countries come from India and such medicines are used to treat over eighty per cent of the 80,000 AIDS patients in Médecins Sans Frontières projects
