Green issue
I read much of the green issue of The Friend (5 January) with interest
I am left with the thought 'What of those of us who do not have large houses and large gardens which can be greened – and the income necessary to do this?'
I live in a small flat, am lucky enough to have my own tiny patch of garden; I have a job which enables me to live very moderately – I don't have the wherewithal to enable me always to buy organic produce, or buy in bulk and store food, or install the most energy-efficient means of heating or cooking; I don't have a car, and have deliberately chosen to find a flat with access to a good bus service, and not to look for work which would necessitate having a car
