Findin’ that light within... - preview

Jan Arriens, founder of LifeLines, reviews the play based on the words of those who have been freed from death row

'I really gotta get back to that spirituality thing and focus on findin' that light within
  • 'cause that's all I really got, you know
  • ' These are the words of David Keaton in Exonerated, a remarkable play portraying six American prisoners who were sentenced to death and subsequently exonerated

  • The play is spare and minimalist
  • Ten actors sit at lecterns
  • The spotlight switches from one to another
  • The stories are told in parallel, cutting from one to the other
  • Gradually, we are taken through the case-histories of all six, from pre-conviction, trial and survival on death row to exoneration

  • Jan Arriens
