'This year has been a real challenge to all involved in Talking Friends
  • We hope our subscribers have not picked up on our anxiety about the future of the service we provide
  • We have moved forward in faith that a solution will be found – but rather like the duckling who glides smoothly on the surface, we have paddled furiously under it at times
  • '

    So began the annual report given by Val Rowling, chairperson of the Talking Friends, at our AGM on 28 April
  • It was significant that there were only five faces round the table – the faithful few who have been struggling to hold the service together
  • However there is a light at the end of the tunnel
