The Light of Christ in Romania - preview

Richard Seebohm attended the Third European Ecumenical assembly

For a week at the beginning of September, more than 2,000 Christians were sent by their churches to the Third European Ecumenical Assembly
  • It took place in Sibiu, Romania, where Catholics had emanated from Hungary, Protestants had migrated from Germany and the Orthodox had been there all the time
  • Each had churches or cathedrals within walking distance
  • These three traditions, in their many manifestations, were all represented together (including 'Old Catholics', a breakaway group who now ordain women)
  • The Salvation Army was there, and, unobtrusively, three Quakers

  • Richard Seebohm
