Africa now - preview

Theresa Watts reports on the Africa Interest Group Meeting last autumn

The Friends Africa Interest Group met at Westminster Meeting House towards the end of September
  • Twenty-two Friends attended, representing interests in several different African countries


  • The sad news of Tony Gilpin's death was received shortly before the meeting
  • He is well remembered for his work in Africa, particularly as part of the team arranging meetings between 'Rhodesia' and neighbouring countries which assisted in the agreements at Lancaster House preceding independence for Zimbabwe
